One of the largest industrial companies in the world wanted a way to determine quickly whether a new or re-designed product might infringe existing patents. The Neota Logic Virtual Patent Advisor automated much of the patent infringement review process. The Advisor interviewed the engineer/inventor much as a patent lawyer would, helped the engineer to search global patent databases, prioritized the clearance reviews based on business need, and sent a briefing memo to in-house patent counsel. "What used to take a month or more is now reduced to less than an hour," according to the senior patent lawyer.
